Jawad Ali, Managing Partner of our Middle East offices, specializes in Islamic finance, and has substantial experience in both conventional and Shari’ah-compliant real estate and private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and infrastructure projects. As global head of our award-winning Middle East and Islamic Finance and Investment practice, Jawad handles a broad range of cross-border corporate, finance and investment matters throughout the world.

Jawad is a pioneer in developing and implementing Shari’ah-compliant financing and investment structures. These include lease finance (Ijara), acquisition finance (Ijara wa-iqtinah), construction finance (Istisna’a – Ijara), trade finance (Murabaha), joint ventures (Musharaka) and Islamic bonds (Sukuk). He regularly advises banks, financial institutions, private equity and real estate firms, and sponsors in structuring and implementing U.S., European, Middle Eastern and global Shari’ah-compliant real estate and private equity funds.

With his specialized expertise, Jawad is frequently invited to speak on Islamic finance and investment across the Middle East, Europe, the U.S. and Asia.
