The role of science in protecting branded products is increasingly important. Pharmaceuticals, along with other manufactured chemicals, are regularly scrutinized based on unreliable scientific evidence. Indeed, many lay individuals tend to presume chemicals are unsafe notwithstanding data to the contrary. Nevertheless, lay and legal audiences alike can appreciate rigorous scientific evidence demonstrating the safety of a product if that data is presented effectively. Leading trial lawyers and attorney-scientists involved in recent jury trials in hellhole jurisdictions and landmark Daubert victories will cover tips and tricks for communicating scientific evidence both inside and outside the courtroom. This session will be useful for regulatory attorneys interested in ways to proactively avert litigation risk, as well as litigation counsel facing thorny legal challenges related to product safety.
