Former Congressman Kendrick Meek, a senior advisor at King & Spalding, was awarded the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Founders Award at CBCF’s 50th anniversary gala in Washington, D.C.
“As we celebrate 50 years of leadership, advocacy, and community advancement, this year’s honorees reflect the legacy and future of the CBCF’s mission in action,” the CBCF said. Meek serves on the organization’s board of directors.
Meek served as the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 17th congressional district from 2003 to 2011, succeeding his mother, the late Carrie Meek, after she retired. Prior to that, he served in the Florida House of Representatives.
Meek is a senior advisor om King & Spalding’s Government Advocacy and Public Policy team, where he provides strategic counsel to a diverse group of companies in the healthcare, technology, higher education, agriculture, energy, and financial services sectors on policy and political strategy development and third-party public policy engagement.
