Securities Docket has selected partners Bill Johnson, Dixie Johnson, Alec Koch, Carmen Lawrence, Aaron Lipson and Andrew Michaelson to its “Enforcement Elite” 2025 list. The list recognizes the “best securities enforcement defense counsel in the industry,” according to the organization.
Bill Johnson represents entities and individuals in government investigations in white-collar criminal and regulatory matters and resulting litigation. He also represents clients in data privacy and security matters, including counseling clients on cybersecurity risk disclosures and disclosure controls.
Dixie Johnson represents businesses and individuals in securities enforcement investigations and conducts internal investigations for corporate board committees and companies. She appears regularly before the SEC, DOJ, FINRA, PCAOB and other federal and state authorities. Johnson also serves as deputy practice group leader for the firm’s Government Matters practices.
Alec Koch is a co-leader of the firm’s Securities Enforcement and Regulation practice and a former Assistant Director with the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement. He represents public companies, financial institutions, boards of directors, and individuals in securities enforcement and anti-corruption investigations before the SEC, DOJ, PCAOB, and other regulatory authorities.
Carmen Lawrence focuses on securities-related government investigations and litigation, representing public and private companies in a range of securities-related regulatory and business matters. Lawrence is co-lead of the firm’s Securities Enforcement and Regulation practice.
Aaron Lipson counsels public companies, investment advisers, broker-dealers, accounting firms, private funds, and individuals facing complex government investigations. Aaron also assists regulated entities with compliance matters and advises boards of directors with respect to independent investigations and disclosure matters.
Andrew Michaelson is an accomplished SEC and white-collar defense practitioner who has advised global financial institutions, Fortune 100 companies, hedge funds, and senior executives in high-stakes investigations. He has deep experience in matters involving securities laws, complex financial instruments, and bribery or corruption.
