Morgan Stanley Acquires $1 Billion Student Housing Portfolio

King & Spalding advised Morgan Stanley’s core open-ended investment vehicle Prime Property Fund (PPF) on the $1 billion acquisition of eight Class A student housing-oriented multifamily assets through the purchase of 100% of the common shares of eight REITs from affiliates in a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Landmark Properties. This transaction represents one of the largest student housing portfolio acquisitions in the U.S. and underscores PPF’s strategic expansion in the student housing sector.
