King & Spalding Recruits Private Equity Partner Paul Barron in London

LONDON, October 5, 2022 — King & Spalding has added private equity lawyer Paul Barron as a partner in the firm’s Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) Practice Group in London.

Barron advises on a wide selection of corporate finance matters, with a focus on private equity and M&A transactions. He acts for numerous private equity managers, management teams, corporates and investors on key mandates, both in the U.K. and internationally.

“Paul has strong relationships with some of the biggest names in the private equity sphere and an impressive deal list, making him an appealing strategic hire as we continue to expand our transactional practice in the U.K. and across Europe,” said Todd Holleman, head of the firm’s CFI Group. “Private equity continues to become more prevalent across funds, buyouts and financings, so it is vital to have top-quality lawyers – such as Paul – to steer these complex transactions.”

Barron was previously at Dickson Minto in London, where he had been a partner since 2015. He received his undergraduate degree in Scots Law with French Legal Studies (Hons) from the University of Glasgow and post-graduate diploma from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law.

“Paul is another top-quality addition to our transactional team as we continue to invest in expansion across a variety of practices in London,” added Tom Sprange K.C., Office Managing Partner in London. “Paul fits nicely into our London private equity offering and provides new cross-border collaboration opportunities with our colleagues in the U.S., EMEA and Asia.”

Barron is the latest partner to join King & Spalding’s European CFI practice in 2022. Recent additions include M&A and private equity partner Amit Kataria, energy partner Nina Howell and finance partners Richard Kitchen and Amin Doulai in London, corporate and private equity partner Peter Memminger in Frankfurt, and finance partner Fernand Arsanios and employment partner Alice Mony Decroix in Paris.

“Joining King & Spalding gives me the opportunity to leverage a strong international platform and collaborate with colleagues around the globe to serve my private equity clients,” said Barron. “The opportunity to grow my own practice as part of the firm’s overall growth in Europe made this move an easy choice for me.”
