King & Spalding Recruits Olivier Goldstein as Tax Partner in Paris

Paris, November 3, 2022 — King & Spalding has added tax lawyer Olivier Goldstein as a partner in the firm’s Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) practice group in Paris.

Goldstein’s practice covers domestic and cross-border transactions involving M&A and group restructurings, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as in new technologies and finance. He represents French corporations and international groups in addition to founders/entrepreneurs and management teams in a variety of corporate finance matters, including divestitures, LBOs, take-private deals and structuring of management packages, as well as in tax litigation matters, including tax white-collar crime.

“Olivier’s tax practice has a heavy deal focus with a background in M&A and private equity work, making him a great addition to our European transactional offering,” said Todd Holleman, head of the firm’s CFI practice. “We continue to scale up our international transactional capabilities, and areas such as tax are critical cross-border components of deals. Adding Oliver, who has a great combination of technical skills and an entrepreneurial nature, will help further that growth.”

Goldstein joins the firm from Reinhart Marville Torre, where he has practiced since 2004 and was made partner in 2007. He joins with two associates and will work alongside fellow King & Spalding Paris tax partner Aurelia De Viry.

Olivier received his undergraduate degree in French business law from Paris-Assas University, his Master of Laws at Paris-Dauphine University and his LLM in German civil and commercial law at Munich University.

“Our Paris CFI team has worked with Olivier on a number of matters, so we have seen first-hand – and been impressed by – his technical skills and commercial approach to complex tax issues,” added Vanessa Benichou, Office Managing Partner in Paris. “Olivier is the third partner to join our Paris office in recent months, so we are pleased to welcome another top hire to the team as our expansion continues.”

Goldstein follows finance partner Fernand Arsanios and employment partner Alice Mony Decroix, who joined the firm’s Paris office in recent months as part of its wider European growth plan. Other European additions this year include energy partner Nina Howell, finance partners Richard Kitchen and Amin Doulai, M&A and private equity partner Amit Kataria, and private equity partner Paul Barron in London, as well as corporate and private equity partner Peter Memminger in Frankfurt.

“I am excited about the opportunities King & Spalding’s international platform provides me to grow my work for my clients and be part of a global team,” Goldstein said. “I’ve been impressed by the firm’s growth and ambition and the energy and momentum of the Paris team and look forward to being part of it.”
