King & Spalding Hires Two Leading Construction Disputes Partners in London

LONDON, 5 Jan. 2021 – King & Spalding has recruited Vincent Rowan and Shareena Edmonds as partners in the Construction and Engineering Disputes team, based in the firm’s London office.

Rowan and Edmonds represent owners and contractors from around the world in international construction disputes, typically in international arbitration. They are particularly active in disputes arising from energy projects in Asia and the Middle East, both onshore and offshore.

Rowan and Edmonds were previously partners at Reed Smith and follow the recent hire of construction, energy and infrastructure disputes partners Patrick McPherson and Randall Walker in Dubai (more here).

“Vince and Shareena are exciting additions to our worldwide construction disputes platform. They are a major boost for our ambition to be the global firm of choice for the resolution of claims arising out of the largest and most complex project failures,” said Mike Stenglein, chair of the firm’s Construction and Engineering Disputes team.

Rowan and Edmonds, who are both ranked in Chambers & Partners, bring the total number of partners in the London office to 23, which includes Ben Emmerson QC, who joined the firm in November 2020 (more here).

“To be able to recruit partners of the quality of Vince and Shareena is a sign of the ongoing commitment of the firm to invest in London,” added Tom Sprange QC, office managing partner in London. “These hires – alongside this week’s promotion to partner of London construction disputes lawyer Andrea Stauber – are a fantastic way to start the new year. Our intention is to continue to expand our disputes, transactional and regulatory offerings in London.”

“King & Spalding has established an impressive global footprint in construction and engineering disputes, and we look forward to contributing to that from London,” added Rowan and Edmonds. “One of the things that really attracted us to the firm is its clear strategy to offer clients the benefits of a world-class arbitration practice alongside a large and specialised construction disputes team.”
