backATLANTA, December 2, 2025 – King & Spalding announced today that Will Barnette has joined the firm’s Business Litigation practice group as a partner. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
Barnette joins the firm from The Home Depot, where he served as Associate General Counsel and was a member of the Legal Senior Leadership Team. As leader of The Home Depot’s commercial litigation team for more than ten years, Barnette was responsible for the company’s most significant commercial and business litigation, as well as third-party and e-discovery. During his twenty-year tenure, he led the successful defense of over 250 class actions, created and led the company’s recovery litigation program, and successfully managed multiple high-profile investigations.
“Will’s experience leading complex litigation dockets in a sophisticated in-house environment like The Home Depot makes him an asset to the firm because he can answer the question ‘why King & Spalding’ from an in-house perspective” said Jessica Corley, co-leader of the firm’s Business Litigation practice group. “Will’s arrival allows us to focus on and grow the amount of work we are doing for clients on complex matters, including consumer class actions, product cases, internal investigations, government investigations and plaintiff recovery opportunities.”
Prior to joining The Home Depot, Barnette was an associate at King & Spalding. He earned his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law, magna cum laude, and his B.A. from the University of the South
