LOS ANGELES, May 8, 2025 - King & Spalding announced today that Will Rollins has joined the firm’s Business Litigation practice group as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Rollins is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California who tried high-profile cases arising out of complex criminal and national security investigations. He also prosecuted white collar crimes, as well as multiple gang and cartel cases. Rollins led dozens of grand jury investigations, conducted direct and cross examinations of witnesses (including experts), and wrote and argued appeals before the Ninth Circuit. He later joined the National Security Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he specialized in counterterrorism and counterintelligence. Rollins received awards for exceptional trial and investigative work from the Director of National Intelligence, FBI, IRS, DEA, Secret Service, and the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
After leaving the Department of Justice, Rollins became a major-party nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 41st District. In his previous private practice at other major law firms, Rollins represented tech companies in complex commercial litigation. He also counseled the leaders of private equity firms and hedge funds in partnership and investment disputes.
“Will is entrepreneurial, business-minded and has an impressive history as an AUSA, a clerk for two federal courts and in private practice, which gives him the foundation to build a strong litigation practice here,” said Damien Marshall, co-leader of the firm’s Business Litigation practice group. “Will has built an extensive network during his legal career and his runs for public office, and he will be an important contributor to our continued growth in California.”
Rollins received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Stone Scholar. Before becoming an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Rollins served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jacqueline Nguyen in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable George Wu in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. He also previously served as an aide to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“I love litigating and am very excited to get back to it at King & Spalding, which has a diverse, market-leading litigation practice and a broad platform that fosters cross-practice collaboration,” said Rollins. “The firm has great momentum in California, and I am looking forward to contributing to its continued growth here.”
Rollins is the fourth litigation partner to join the firm in California in 2025. Former Ninth Circuit judge Paul Watford joined the Los Angeles office in February, former Google regulatory and litigation counsel Ben Softness joined the San Francisco office in March and e-discovery partner Chris Costello joined the Los Angeles office in April.
