backKing & Spalding advises Engel Austria on the acquisition of Trexel, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
A subsidiary of Austrian injection molding machine manufacturer Engel Austria GmbH has acquired key assets of Trexel, Inc. and taken over part of its workforce.
Trexel, Inc. has been developing and marketing MuCell microcellular foam technology since 1995, which is used to produce lightweight and cost-effective plastic parts using microcellular foam.In addition to its long-standing partner Engel, Trexel's customers include companies from the automotive, electrical engineering, aerospace, packaging, and consumer goods industries.
Engel employs approximately 7,000 people in around 40 locations worldwide. The acquisition of Trexel further expands Engel's technological leadership in the field of foaming.
