Amy Frey Rejoins King & Spalding’s International Arbitration Team in Paris

PARIS, August 3, 2023 – King & Spalding announced today that international arbitration partner Amy Frey has rejoined its Trial and Global Disputes practice group in Paris.

Frey focuses her practice on cross-border disputes, including investment treaty and commercial arbitration. She represents individual clients, small- and mid-sized enterprises, multinational corporations, and investors from around the world in cases ranging from contract and licensing disputes to claims against foreign states arising from bilateral investment treaties and the Energy Charter Treaty. She also advises clients on foreign investment structuring and planning, domestic litigation proceedings involving challenges to and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, and on EU disputes involving state aid and intra-EU arbitration.

“Amy is a bright lawyer with excellent advocacy skills and an impeccable reputation with her colleagues and with her clients,” said Andy Bayman, leader of the firm’s Trial and Global Disputes practice group. “We are happy to welcome her back and look forward to the contributions she will make to the growth of our international arbitration practice in Europe and beyond.”

“We have watched Amy’s star rise in the European international arbitration world and know first-hand what a collaborative and driven colleague she is, so we are excited for her return and for the depth she adds to our Paris-based dispute resolution offerings,” added Vanessa Benichou, managing partner of the firm’s Paris office.

Frey rejoins King & Spalding from the Paris office of McDermott Will & Emery, which she joined in 2022. She began her legal career at King & Spalding and practiced in the firm’s Houston and Washington, D.C. offices before relocating to Paris in 2011. She was elected partner in 2016. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Mississippi, her J.D. from Tulane University Law School, and her master’s degree from Oxford University.

“King & Spalding is where I got my start, and its platform has been a major contributor to the advancement of my practice and my career,” said Frey. “I am really happy to be rejoining this renowned international arbitration team and to be part of its growth in Europe.”
