On 1 June 2026, the revised Arbitration Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Rules) came into force. They apply to arbitration agreements concluded thereafter.
Hence, if you refer to the ICC Rules in your new contracts, you need to be aware of the changes. As you can expect from a market leader, the revised ICC Rules introduce innovations to make arbitrating your disputes even more attractive.
With the 2026 ICC Rules, users can expect a more streamlined and pragmatic procedural framework, with certain formalities abandoned in favour of earlier and more active case management, new mechanisms to dispose of meritless claims at an early stage and additional options for accelerated proceedings, alongside a continued move towards digitalisation and greater transparency.
In this webinar, arbitration partners Samaa Haridi, Jan Schäfer and Marleen Krüger from our offices in New York, Frankfurt and London as well as Hjördis Birna Hjartardottir from ICC in Paris will unpack these developments, explore their practical implications and provide insights into their early operation from within the ICC system. Of course, you will have the opportunity to ask all your questions on the new ICC Rules.
