On July 1, 2026, the PCAOB announced that it appointed George Kostolampros as the PCAOB’s General Counsel. Kostolampros joins the PCAOB from Venable, where he advised companies, boards of directors, audit committees, and executives on compliance, governance, and regulatory matters. Kostolampros represented clients in, among other things, internal investigations, government enforcement matters, and regulatory proceedings. Kostolampros also previously served as Senior Counsel in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement.
Matt Goldin, who was named Acting General Counsel in January 2026, will resume his role as Deputy General Counsel.
