Misty L. Peterson

Misty Peterson, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, serves as Counsel in King & Spalding's Data Privacy and Security and Class Action practices. Misty focuses on data privacy compliance and cybersecurity incident response needs for clients. She also handles the defense of complex and class action litigation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, data breach laws, fraud, consumer protection statutes, and related privacy laws, as well as managed care disputes. 

Misty’s past experience includes the representation of corporate and individual clients as plaintiffs and defendants in mass torts, products liability, securities, insurance disputes, and complex commercial matters. Prior to joining King & Spalding LLP, Misty was a senior associate at another large litigation firm, and also previously worked as in-house counsel for an insurance corporation on regulatory and claims matters.
