Bio

Jonathan Shin represents hospitals, behavioral health facilities, laboratories, medical device manufacturers and other healthcare providers in managed care and general commercial litigation in arbitrations and state and federal civil actions throughout the country. Jonathan also has experience defending companies against government investigations and accusations of fraud and abuse. 

Jonathan is a successful trial and arbitration lawyer, having won several jury verdicts, arbitration awards, and settlements resulting in significant payments on behalf of hospitals and other healthcare providers against healthcare payers in both contracted and out-of-network reimbursement disputes. Jonathan counsels and represents companies on various health law and managed care issues, including payor disputes and contracting, the Affordable Care Act, the No Surprises Act, ERISA, HIPAA, and California's Knox-Keene Act. Jonathan has also advised clients on matters involving insurance, fraud and abuse, e-discovery, trade secrets and intellectual property. 

Jonathan has received recognition as one of Los Angeles Business Journal's Leaders of Influence: Litigators and Trial Lawyers.

Jonathan received his Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif and in the top 10 of his graduating class, a participant in the Moot Court Honors Program, and managing editor of the Pacific Basin Law Journal.
