  • Counsel for a major specialty retail chain in a nationwide lawsuit filed by the EEOC alleging a pattern or practice of discriminating against over 50,000 Black and Hispanic applicants for employment in over 70 stores.
  • Counsel for a major insurance company in a nationwide class and collective action alleging discrimination on the basis of race and age in Ohio federal court. The District Court dismissed with prejudice all class and collective action allegations as well as all allegations of disparate impact by the individual plaintiff.     
  • Counsel for electric company in action filed by 13 individual plaintiffs alleging race discrimination and harassment in South Carolina federal court.  The District Court granted summary judgment in the lead case, and the other cases were resolved favorably.  
  • Counsel for apartment owner and management company in action alleging discrimination in violation of the Fair Housing Act in Maryland federal court.  The District Court granted summary judgment in protracted litigation brought by civil rights organization.   
  • Successfully defeated class certification in a failure-to-hire class action brought against  security contractor  in Tennessee federal court.   

  • Counsel for global manufacturer of tissue  products in action filed by 13 individual plaintiffs  alleging age discrimination in Tennessee federal court.    The District Court granted summary judgment as to nine plaintiffs, and the four remaining cases were resolved favorably.

Jona McCormick advises the firm on employment law matters, drawing on deep litigation experience to counsel on employee relations, workplace policies, wage-and-hour compliance, leave administration, and internal investigations. She provides practical guidance on personnel decisions and performance management, drafts employment-related agreements, delivers training, and supports compliance and workforce strategy.

Informed by decades of employment litigation and workplace counseling experience, Jona focuses on helping the firm address workplace issues efficiently and in compliance with evolving legal requirements. She provides day-to-day counseling and advises on the development and application of workplace policies and procedures to promote consistency and alignment with applicable laws. Jona works closely with firm stakeholders to navigate personnel matters, strengthen workplace practices, and support effective management and a well-functioning workforce.
