  • Successfully defended a physician who was being criminally investigated by DOJ for healthcare fraud. Matter concluded with no prosecution.
  • Represented numerous individuals in DOJ and SEC investigations across industries, successfully navigating them through Grand Jury and other government proceedings without any charges being brought.
  • With former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, conducted an independent investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and verbal and emotional abuse in women's professional soccer, commissioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation. The year-long investigation culminated in a public report and recommendations for systemic change across the sport.
  • Representing founder and former CEO of Ontrak who was charged with insider trading by the Department of Justice. The case was touted by DOJ as the first-ever criminal prosecution for trades under a 10b5-1 plan.
  • Represented a national governing body for an Olympic sport in an investigation led by the California Attorney General’s Office, resulting in successful resolution with no adverse findings.
  • Represented a global auto manufacturer in connection with an investigation by DOJ into alleged foreign bribery and the prosecution of a former employee, successfully resulting in no adverse action against the company.
Bio

Clients rely on Jamie Lang to navigate high-stakes government investigations, white-collar criminal defense matters, and parallel civil litigation. With experience as a former federal prosecutor and a deep understanding of enforcement by the DOJ, HHS-OIG, and other federal and state agencies, Jamie guides companies and individuals alike through prosecutions, internal investigations, and other compliance challenges. While Jamie represents clients across industry sectors, she has a particular focus on False Claims Act matters involving life sciences and healthcare companies.     

Jamie's perspective is shaped by more than six years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Central District of California, where she served as lead counsel on dozens of felony investigations and prosecutions involving organized crime, money laundering, narcotics trafficking, tax fraud, and other federal offenses. She tried cases before juries and judges alike and has briefed and argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

She launched her career in King & Spalding's Washington, D.C. office, where she began representing pharmaceutical and life sciences companies in DOJ and HHS-OIG investigations involving off-label promotion, unlawful inducements, and pricing practices—laying the groundwork for the healthcare-focused practice she leads today.

Today, clients turn to Jamie when facing their most sensitive legal challenges in healthcare, life sciences, and beyond. She has secured favorable outcomes for healthcare companies and physicians in False Claims Act and other healthcare fraud matters and has successfully guided numerous individuals through grand jury and other government proceedings without charges being brought. Jamie also brings experience in cross-industry matters, including corporate fraud investigations and high-profile independent investigations, such as the review of misconduct in women's professional soccer she conducted alongside former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates on behalf of the U.S. Soccer Federation.

Jamie earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University and her A.B. from Dartmouth College and is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia. She currently serves on the Law360 Criminal Practice Editorial Board and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA) Board of Governors.  She also spearheads chapter engagement for the Los Angeles chapter of the Women's White Collar Defense Association.
