Bio

Erich is an environmental tort and energy disputes partner in King & Spalding’s Houston office. He represents clients in high-stakes environmental and mass torts and commercial disputes. His energy focus spans the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas and renewables sectors. He has extensive experience with decommissioning and royalty disputes, and also represents mineral lessees and operators in disputes before federal agencies relating to decommissioning energy assets, oil and gas royalties, and environmental regulatory compliance.

Erich has experience in large-scale, multiparty litigation, as well as individual actions. He practices in numerous jurisdictions, representing clients in all aspects of litigation across the country. He also provides pre-litigation counseling on contractual risk allocation and compliance with Department of the Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, and state agency regulations. 

Erich served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan, and is an alumnus of the Army’s Strategic Studies Fellowship Program.
