• Acting for an individual defendant in the successful defence of a US$350 million fraud claim, ongoing for more than ten years and culminating in a 12 week trial
• Advising a global sportswear manufacturer in a multi-million pound dispute against a Premier League football club
• Acting for a global technology company in obtaining anti-enforcement and anti-anti-suit injunctions against Russian defendants to block international enforcement of Russian court judgments imposing fines of two undecillion roubles.
• Acting for the respondent State in an ICSID arbitration for alleged breaches of a bilateral investment treaty valued at approximately USD 6 billion
• Advising athletes in a dispute with the International Olympic Committee regarding the application of the Olympic Medal Reallocation Process.
• Acting for a sovereign-wealth fund in a $500 million fraud proceeding before the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
• Acting for an oil and gas trading company in various UNCITRAL arbitrations and in High Court proceedings regarding or arising out of the non-performance of contracts for the delivery of LNG by a State provider.
• Representing an international oil and gas company in proceedings before the English High Court and the Court of Appeal regarding claims connected to a production sharing contract in Iraq.
• Acting in an ad-hoc arbitration, seated in London, focusing on illegality and piercing the corporate veil in a case related to the shipping industry.
• Acting for the investor in the enforcement of a $1.2 billion award rendered pursuant to a bilateral investment treaty.

Charity Kirby is a Senior Associate in King & Spalding’s Trial and Global Disputes practice in the London office. Charity qualified in 2015, having trained with the firm.

Charity has a wealth of experience in commercial litigation and arbitration and has acted in proceedings before the English High Court, the English Court of Appeal, Arbitral Tribunals under major international arbitration rules and in London based ad-hoc arbitrations.

Charity has been involved in a variety of multi-party cases, often spanning many jurisdictions including issues of breach of contract, professional negligence and fraud in industries such as sports, financial services and oil and gas.
