• Defended a leading broker dealer against $500 million claims that it colluded to inflate the valuation of mortgage-backed securities held by a hedge fund customer.
• Defended a global bank in a commercial arbitration that involved an accounting dispute with the bank’s former subsidiary.

Andrew J. Calica represents chemical and pharmaceutical companies in toxic tort, product liability, mass, and class actions. He advises clients on strategy for navigating large dockets and in multi-jurisdiction litigation. His experience includes emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS, PCB), pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and with claims asserting personal injury, medical monitoring, and property damage in the context of individual, coordinated, and class action proceedings. Andrew has also defended clients in cases brought by state attorneys general and public water systems. Andrew’s recent engagements include representing global chemical companies in water contamination cases and a multi-national logistics company in automotive liability cases.

Andrew also has substantial multi-district litigation experience representing financial institutions in antitrust and commodities litigation. Andrew advises clients in complex commercial disputes and on resolution strategies. His clients include banks, private equity firms, and family offices.

He is the co-author of a forthcoming chapter in the treatise Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts (6th ed.).
