Alejandra Apecechea

Alejandra Apecechea draws on her experience in the White House, Congress, and private practice to advise and defend clients facing government investigations and enforcement matters. With over a decade of public- and private-sector experience, including senior government roles, she counsels clients through high-stakes legal and regulatory challenges, whether in the context of civil, criminal, Congressional, or parallel inquiries, including matters before the Department of Justice, state attorneys general, Congress, and other federal agencies. She also leads internal investigations and advises clients on proactive and remedial compliance measures, including mitigation of reputational risk and business disruption.

Prior to rejoining King & Spalding, Alejandra served in multiple roles in the White House, where she helped lead the response to high-profile Congressional subpoenas and oversight investigations. In these positions, she engaged regularly with senior officials across the Executive Branch and in Congress. She also served on an investigative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she led witness interviews and depositions, managed hearings, and worked closely with bipartisan Members of Congress and staff.

Alejandra devotes a significant portion of her time to pro bono work, with a particular focus on immigration law. She previously served on Law360’s Immigration Editorial Advisory Board.

Alejandra received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. During law school, she served as a law clerk in the Civil Division of the Department of Justice. Alejandra earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with high distinction.
