On December 23, 2022, the SEC voted to approve the PCAOB’s 2023 budget of $349.5 million and the related annual accounting support fee of $329.4 million.  At the same time, Commissioner Peirce issued a statement explaining that she could not support the PCAOB’s 2023 budget and accounting support fee due to concerns about the substantial increase in the budget and fee over prior years and the potential for mission-creep at the PCAOB.  The SEC’s press release is available here.  Commissioner Peirce’s statement is available here.
