On November 16, 2023, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board approved a $384.7 million proposed budget for the 2024 fiscal year. The proposed budget is subject to approval by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The proposed 2024 budget represents a 10% increase compared to the prior year, and it projects an increase in the PCAOB’s workforce from 926 to 946 positions.
