Chet Tisdale is a partner in King & Spalding’s Atlanta office and founded the firm’s Environmental Practice in 1973. For 36 years he has represented clients on environmental litigation and environmental regulatory matters involving air, water and waste cleanup issues. He has served as common counsel or chairperson representing groups of companies at 21 superfund sites in the southeast, northeast and midwest. He has served as a mediator or arbitrator to allocate costs among parties at more than 20 sites in the United States and Canada. He has been appointed as special master for environmental cases in federal courts in Minnesota, Ohio, and Michigan. He has been recognized as a leading environmental practitioner in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and other publications. In addition to representation of parties and groups of parties before EPA and state agencies, he has litigated environmental cases in state courts, federal courts, and before administrative law judges in New Jersey, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and Georgia.
