Ramon Miyar is a Senior Associate in King & Spalding's Trial and Global Disputes practice group. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and arbitration. Litigation

In his litigation practice, Ramon routinely handles a wide array of claims, including discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, wage and hour, California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, restrictive covenant enforcement, business torts, and breach of contract. Ramon has successfully resolved numerous wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions involving claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, PAGA, and various state labor and employment statutes (including the California Labor Code).

Investigations & Crisis Management

Ramon has conducted confidential investigations into allegations of employee and executive misconduct, including claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. He helps his clients respond to and manage employee-related crises strategically to mitigate risk, while coordinating a swift and effective response, and taking appropriate remedial action. He also assists with the development of policies and best practices to prevent future incidents, ensure legal compliance, and promote a healthy corporate culture.

Ramon regularly counsels his clients on a broad range of employment-related topics, including the classification of employees and independent contractors, compliance with varying federal, state, and local laws governing overtime, meal and rest periods, the payment of wages, paid sick leave, bonus and incentive compensation, drug testing, background checks, high-risk terminations, mass layoffs, reductions in force, disability accommodation, family and medical leave, restrictive covenants, trade secret protection, and unfair competition.
