Shea Kenny's practice focuses on government investigations and related litigation, including government criminal and civil investigations, corporate internal investigations, white-collar criminal defense, and complex civil litigation. Shea is an associate in King & Spalding's Special Matters and Government Investigations practice. Prior to joining King & Spalding, Shea served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of California. Shea uses his experience as a prosecutor to help clients navigate government investigations and criminal matters. Shea also has extensive experience assisting clients in civil litigation and business disputes.
As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Shea investigated and prosecuted a variety of federal offenses, including fraud, antitrust violations, and public corruption. He litigated multiple jury trials to verdict as well as successful appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to his government service, Shea represented numerous individuals and corporations in complex civil litigation matters in state and federal courts.
Shea received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall), where he graduated Order of the Coif. While in law school, Shea was an editor of the California Law Review and the Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law and participated in the Veterans Law Practicum. He was also a full-time judicial extern in the chambers of the Hon. Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, of the Northern District of California, as well as a law clerk with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
