Dick Normington serves as counsel in King & Spalding's Mass Tort and Toxic Tort and Environmental practices. Dick has represented clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to new start-up companies.

Dick has over twenty years of courtroom experience as a trial attorney and has handled a broad spectrum of matters, including CERCLA litigation for manufacturing, and chemical storage sites, air pollution and groundwater disputes, personal injury cases arising from catastrophic events and workplace exposure, wrongful death and survival actions, as well as numerous commercial litigation matters. His CERCLA litigation experience includes a former World War II synthetic rubber manufacturing complex, agricultural chemical storage facilities, various dry cleaner sites and other manufacturing and chemical storage sites. 

Dick has practiced in many of the federal and state courts in California, including both trial and appellate courts. He specializes in the defense of energy companies and chemical manufacturers in toxic tort and environmental cases. He has been appointed to serve as defense liaison counsel in several California coordination proceedings, including “In re Chevron Fire Cases,” and “In re Welding Product Cases.” 

Previously, Dick was a litigation partner at Filice Brown Eassa & McLeod in Oakland, California. There, he engaged primarily in environmental and toxic tort litigation, as well as products liability and business disputes. His experience includes class actions, multiparty litigation, California coordination proceedings and federal multi-district litigation. He also served as a member of the firm’s executive committee.
