Richard is the deputy head of our energy practice (a team of 250+ dedicated energy attorneys in 20 offices serving clients in six continents on upstream Oil & Gas, midstream, LNG, power, renewables and petrochemical matters) and head of our international LNG practice.

Based in Singapore since 2008, Richard regularly advises international Oil & Gas companies, host governments, project developers and sponsors in jurisdictions across southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. He has also worked previously in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Richard has been involved in the energy industry for over 20 years is currently ranked as a Band 1 lawyer for Energy & Natural Resources in Singapore and Asia-Pacific by the leading law directories, including Chambers and The Legal 500. He has also been listed by the IFLR 1000 and Who’s Who Legal (Energy) guides as a leading lawyer for Energy & Infrastructure, Project Development, Banking, Project Finance and M&A.

Richard has contributed to various energy industry journals and news publications in Singapore and southeast Asia, notably PFI 2019 Energy Review, LNG Journal and International Energy Law Review. He is also a regular moderator and speaker at a number of leading energy conferences including Gastech (2017 - 2019), CWC World LNG Summit (2015 - 2019), CWC Asia Pacific Summit (2016 - 2019), Gas Asia Summit, FLNG Summit and IPFA.
