Larry Yanowitch is a partner in King & Spalding’s Corporate, Finance and Investments practice where he  predominantly represents emerging companies (both public and private), investment banks and institutional investors. He was named 2019 “Lawyer of the Year” for Corporate Law in Washington, D.C. by Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Yanowitch has completed hundreds of M&A transactions in his career with purchase prices ranging from $5 million to over $5 billion. Mr. Yanowitch has particular experience in the technology and ADG sectors. He has experience in structuring, negotiating and advising clients on a wide variety of M&A transactions, including mergers, tax-free reorganizations, stock purchases, asset transactions, both negotiated and unsolicited tender offers, proxy fights, leveraged buyouts, Section 363 transactions and joint ventures. Mr. Yanowitch serves as outside general counsel for a number of emerging technology companies.   

Mr. Yanowitch specializes in developing acquisition programs for companies using M&A as a growth strategy.  He is a frequent author, commentator and lecturer on M&A topics. He is the founder of M&A University, an executive training program for management teams using M&A as a growth strategy. Many leading organizations in the Mid-Atlantic have benefited from M&A University including Booz Allen Hamilton, SAIC, Discovery Communications, Financial Executives International, ManTech International, DynCorp International, American Systems, The Corporate Executive Board, NCI Information Systems, and The Advisory Board Company.

Mr. Yanowitch has been awarded the Chambers USA highest rating since 2006. Legal 500 has recommended Mr. Yanowitch for M&A: Large Deals ($1bn-$5bn) in 2012–2017, in addition to being named to Best Lawyers in America in the field of mergers and acquisitions law every year since 2008. In Chambers USA 2019, a client described him as "really good at seeing the big picture and being the steady voice of reason in contentious matters; his sage advise comes from having been in every situation before."
