Laura Bennett is counsel in the Washington, D.C., office of King & Spalding and a member of the firm’s Special Matters and Investigations practice. She focuses primarily on white collar criminal litigation, government investigations, corporate internal investigations, anti-corruption due diligence, and the development of corporate compliance programs. She also routinely provides Foreign Corrupt Practices Act advice to companies. She frequently represents companies and individuals under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, the U.S. Senate, and other government enforcement authorities.

Ms. Bennett is the chair of the firm’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (“LGBT”) Affinity Group. Outside the firm, she served on the board of directors of Rainbow Families, a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. from 2015-2017, and was president of the board from 2016-2017. From 2013-2015, she served as Vice Chair of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission for Howard County, Maryland.

Ms. Bennett earned her J.D. degree, with high honors and Order of the Coif, from the George Washington University Law School, where she was a George Washington Scholar. She earned her B.A. with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University, majoring in Political Science and Gender Studies. While an undergraduate, Ms. Bennett served on the Indiana University Student Body Supreme Court.
