People

Katie Barry is an associate in the Special Matters and Government Investigations Practice Group in the Charlotte office of King & Spalding.  Her practice focuses primarily on internal and government investigations, white collar criminal litigation, and corporate compliance and governance.  Katie also has experience with complex civil litigation and appeals. 

Katie represents companies and individuals under investigation by various entities, including DOJ, SEC, OFAC, State Attorneys Generals, and international regulators and authorities.  Katie has particular experience with cross-border investigations.  Her clients operate in a variety of industries including financial services, tech (including FinTech), healthcare and pharma, retail, energy, and transportation.

Katie earned her J.D. (cum laude) from Duke University School of Law in 2017. At Duke, Katie was a Staff Editor for Law & Contemporary Problems, Duke's oldest journal. Katie was also actively involved in the Duke Bar Association, Duke's student government organization, and played in active role in assisting the Admissions Office with recruiting students. Katie also spent a summer working at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Hampshire. 

Katie earned her B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) in Political Science and History from Villanova University in 2014.
