Ed Holzwanger is a partner in our Labor and Employment practice group. Ed concentrates on labor and employment counseling, with an emphasis on labor and employment matters arising in all types of corporate transactions. Ed's clients benefit not only from his 15+ years of experience in private practice, but also from the insights gained during his tenure with the National Labor Relations Board.
Ed has a comprehensive labor and employment advice and counseling practice, covering federal and state laws relating to hiring, discipline and separation, wage and hour, worker classification, leave entitlements, equal employment opportunity, restrictive covenants, employment-related agreements and related documentation, human resources policy development and implementation, reductions in force and WARN Act compliance, as well as traditional labor issues, including union representation, collective bargaining, and implementation of operational changes for unionized businesses.
Ed also regularly provides employment counseling in connection with corporate transactions of all sorts, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, debt financing, and restructuring. In this capacity, Ed manages labor and employment due diligence, negotiates purchase agreements, transition services agreements, employee matters agreements, and other ancillary deal documents, and develops and implements workforce transition and integration plans.
