Eduardo Bruera is a Senior Associate in King & Spalding’s Global Disputes practice with a focus on international arbitration. Since joining the firm, Eduardo has served as a key brief writer on multiple high-value treaty arbitrations across a range of industries, including mining, energy, transportation, and construction. He has also presented argument and cross-examined witnesses in major arbitrations. In addition to his international arbitration practice, Eduardo maintains an active American litigation practice and has successfully litigated matters involving the Alien Torts Statute, freedom of speech, and federal preemption.

Prior to joining the firm, Eduardo served as a federal prosecutor in Alexandria, Virginia, where he prosecuted felonies ranging from sex trafficking to identity theft. Before that, he was a Senior Advisor to the General Counsel of the Treasury Department where he was responsible for providing legal advice on a range of statutory and constitutional issues to the senior leadership of the Department. He began his career at a litigation boutique in Washington, D.C., where he briefed cases at every level of the federal court system.

Eduardo clerked on the United States Supreme Court for Justices Stevens and Sotomayor and on the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for Judge King. He is a graduate of Cornell Law School and holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
