Christopher Delphin (Chris) is a counsel in the Corporate, Finance & Investments practice group and a member of the Firm’s Energy and Project Finance Team.  He counsels clients across a broad spectrum of the energy sector, including project development activities, energy product purchase and sale transactions, finance transactions for energy projects and products, and acquisition and divestment transactions for oil and gas assets.

Chris has extensive experience in the natural gas and LNG sectors, handling matters related to transportation, liquefaction and processing, marketing and sales.  Additionally, he has advised clients on joint ventures and project financing matters.

Chris handles all types of energy-related transaction documentation, such as project development agreements, joint venture agreements, operations and maintenance agreements, liquefaction and processing agreements, commodity sales and purchase agreements (using bespoke and standard forms such as the ISDA and NAESB), credit agreements and collateral support documentation.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Chris was a senior in-house counsel at Shell Oil Company and BG Group, where he advised clients on the development of the Lake Charles LNG project, various acquisitions and divestments for U.S.-based assets, and other global projects.  Chris began his career as an associate at a leading New York law firm, where he focused on project finance and project development.
