Christie Iannetta focuses on regulatory and compliance issues facing the automotive industry, including motor vehicle safety issues, autonomous technology and consumer safety issues.  Christie works closely with clients to find practical and proactive solutions to regulatory issues that create minimal disruption and keep the company in good stead with its regulators, particularly the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Christie creates relationships with clients and works with them closely to build tailored safety NHTSA compliance programs. She works closely with vehicle manufacturers and equipment suppliers to provide comprehensive, personal and sound advice in the areas of automotive safety recalls, internal investigations and audits, government investigations and enforcement proceedings.  She also advises on consumer product related matters overseen by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Previously, Christie was a senior trial attorney with the NHTSA where she advised the agency on matters of legal authority and risk in a number of highly complex safety investigations, including serving as lead attorney in one of the largest and most complex consumer recalls in U.S. history.

Christie provided a full range of legal support in the agency’s oversight and investigation of vehicle and equipment manufacturers concerning safety-related defects, noncompliance with federal safety standards, and other violations of the Vehicle Safety Act and regulations.

Prior to her federal service, Christie was a litigation attorney at a major U.S. law firm, where her practice focused on the defense of legal malpractice claims and high value insurance coverage disputes.
