Annie Stanford is an associate in the Trial and Global Disputes Practice Group of King & Spalding’s Houston office, representing clients in a diverse range of complex civil litigation matters with a focus on commercial disputes in the energy, financial services, and manufacturing sectors.  Annie has experience litigating before both state and federal courts, as well as before alternative dispute resolution tribunals.

Annie manages cases at various stages of fact investigation, discovery, and motion practice.  Annie has successfully briefed discovery, jurisdictional, and dispositive motions in state and federal courts across the United States, as well as before alternative dispute resolution tribunals.  Through her work, Annie has secured favorable pretrial outcomes for clients at the demand letter, dismissal, and summary judgment stages.  Annie also has experience serving and responding to written discovery and preparing witnesses for depositions.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Annie graduated with highest honors from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.  While in law school, she advocated for media clients in the First Amendment Clinic, represented individuals in post-conviction matters in the Post-Conviction Relief Clinic, worked as a research assistant to Professor Lisa Hoppenjans, and served as the head Legal Writing teaching assistant.  Annie also earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Environmental Litigation, won the Best Brief Award in the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition, and worked as a Notes Editor on the Washington University Law Review.  Prior to law school, Annie graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in Spanish, where she was a National Merit Scholar and an Annika Rodriguez Scholar.
