Tokyo Dispute Resolution & Crisis Management Newsletter – April 2021

This edition of our newsletter is our 50th and arrives at the mid-point of our 6th year in Tokyo. We hope that in some small way our newsletter programme has been a positive addition to the legal education and knowledge of those we reach, in particular during this challenging times when in-person meetings are difficult and the market is awash with webinars.

The focus of this celebratory edition is the core expertise of the Tokyo Global Disputes team: International Arbitration. We are delighted that this has been recognized in, amongst others, the following leading legal directories: (i) Who’s Who Legal Global Guide Arbitration Future Leaders – Partners and National Leader (Japan); (ii) Chambers Global – Band 1 Ranked Lawyer for International Dispute Resolution (Japan); (iii) Legal 500 – Leading Individual (Gaiben) for International Dispute Resolution (Japan); and (iv) Benchmark Litigation – International Arbitration Star. We are, of course, acutely aware that at these rankings could not be achieved without the support of our fantastic clients, and we are truly grateful to all those who have been part of our journey.

Given the focus of this edition, we take the opportunity to provide below a selection of newsletters from across our 50 editions which feature lead articles on International Arbitration (with hyperlinks to combined English and Japanese editions).
