Texas Lawyer Names Vera de Gyarfas Among its 2016 Women in Energy Honorees

HOUSTON, Oct. 20, 2016 — King & Spalding partner Vera de Gyarfas has been named one of Texas’s most outstanding women in the area of energy law in 2016. Annually, Texas Lawyer awards this honor to women who have demonstrated extraordinary achievements in the energy practice in the past year.

De Gyarfas was nominated for her representation of Anadarko in the $15 - $20 billion Mozambique LNG export project for the last four years. She currently plays the lead role in the negotiations with the government including drafting and negotiating the enabling legislation, commercial agreements governing the investment, and the marine concessions. Mozambique LNG is one of the largest proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects in the works globally.

De Gyarfas is a partner in King & Spalding’s Global Transactions practice in Houston. She focuses on energy projects in Latin America and Africa, representing clients in upstream E&P projects; LNG and other gas projects; power companies in the construction of generation, transmission and distribution facilities; petrochemical companies in the development of specialized plants and energy infrastructure  in general .
