NEW YORK, June 24, 2019 — The South Asian Bar Association of North America has honored King & Spalding Trial and Global Disputes partner Viren Mascarenhas with its Rising Star Award. The award recognizes a lawyer who is under 40 years old or has been practicing for less than 10 years for high achievement in innovation, leadership, legal and community service, and commitment to diversity.
Mascarenhas, who is based in New York, focuses on public international law and international arbitration, including both investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration. He has been recognized as a Rising Star by the New York Law Journal and was recently named one of Latinvex’s Latin America’s Top 50 Rising Stars. Legal 500 named him a Next Generation lawyer in the field of international arbitration, and the National LGBT Bar Association named him to its Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 list.
