King & Spalding represented Port Arthur LNG, LLC and PALNG Common Facilities Company, LLC (affiliates of Sempra Energy) on the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement with Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals, Inc. for the development of the Port Arthur LNG project. On February 28, 2020, the parties fully executed the EPC agreement.
Located on the Sabine-Neches waterway, the Port Arthur LNG project will include the development of a natural gas treatment, gas processing, and liquefaction facility and has the potential to become one of the largest in North America. When completed, the facility will include two liquefaction trains, up to three LNG storage tanks, and associated facilities with a nameplate capacity of approximately 13.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG.
