HOUSTON, June 18, 2018 — King & Spalding International Arbitration partner Roberto Aguirre Luzi has been named president of the Argentina Texas Chamber of Commerce.
Aguirre Luzi became president of the organization last month. On May 24, the organization held its 2nd Anniversary Celebration in Houston, and gave awards to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and General Consul of Argentina in Houston Gabriel Volpi. The awards “honor key contributors who foster international trade and investment opportunities and promote business-friendly environments,” according to the organization. The Argentina Texas Chamber of Commerce is an independent, non-profit organization of businesses and professionals that promotes opportunities between Argentina and Texas across multiple business sectors.
Aguirre Luzi, who is based in Houston, specializes in counseling multinational corporations on complex arbitration. He is experienced in administrative and civil law, government contracts, oil and gas contracts, public utilities, and power and infrastructure projects. Aguirre Luzi represents clients in complex arbitrations before the World Bank Group’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes and UN Commission on International Trade Law, as well as in arbitration under the International Centre for Dispute Resolution and International Chamber of Commerce rules. He was born in San Juan, Argentina.
