NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2017 — The Recorder has honored King & Spalding partner Tom Duley with a Trusted Advisor award, which goes to “individual lawyers who get the first call from clients contemplating transformational transactions,” according to the publication.
Duley, a Corporate partner based in San Francisco, received the award in recognition for his work advising life sciences companies—in particular SciClone Pharmaceuticals Inc., on its licensing deal to develop and distribute a new cancer therapy for patients in China, Taiwan, South Korea and Vietnam.
The Trusted Advisor awards were among those given to California practitioners as part of the Recorder’s Corporate Departments of the Year awards. Honorees will be recognized at an event in San Francisco on Nov. 16.
Duley’s practice focuses on technology transactions for life sciences clients, in particular negotiating, drafting and managing strategic partnering deals and commercial transactions. He works with life sciences clients across the corporate life cycle, from startups obtaining their first university in-license to large public corporations restructuring their product holdings. Duley was named an LMG “Life Sciences Star” and is a former Senior Corporate Counsel of PDL BioPharma.
