Legislative, Regulatory and Enforcement Activity Involving PFAS and Ethylene Oxide

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which have been widely used in commercial applications in a variety of industries globally, have triggered significant concern in Congress and at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Additionally, ethylene oxide (EtO), one of the most widely used and effective substances for sterilizing medical products and devices, has come under intense scrutiny by the EPA, the Food and Drug Administration, state and local agencies, environmental groups and others.

Given these substances' importance, the increased focus on PFAS and EtO affects a wide range of parties, from chemical manufacturers to medical device manufacturers and sterilizers to hospitals and health care providers.

Join King & Spalding and Representative Madeleine Dean as we discuss the latest legislative, regulatory and enforcement activity involving these chemicals; how companies are affected; and what companies can do to prepare and respond to these changes.
