Law360 Names King & Spalding’s Employment Practice a Practice Group of the Year

NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2018 — Law360 has recognized King & Spalding’s Labor & Employment practice as an Employment Practice Group of the Year for its influential victories for clients. In its profile of the group, Law360 focused on several of its 2017 wins:

  • The successful settlement of an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission race discrimination case with nationwide implications for every employer in the U.S. covered by Title VII;
  • A complete victory for Meritor Inc. in a retiree healthcare benefits class action, in which the Sixth Circuit ruled in its favor;
  • A win for Moen, Inc., which was the first case in the Sixth Circuit decided on the merits in a retiree health benefits class action after the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in M&G Polymers USA LLC v. Tackett; and
  • The successful dismissal for Peabody Energy of one of the first Employee Retirement Income Security Act stock-drop cases filed since the U.S. Supreme Court decided Fifth Third Bancorp v. Dudenhoeffer.
