Law360 Names King & Spalding a Construction Practice Group of the Year

NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2019 — Law360 has recognized King & Spalding’s Construction practice as a 2018 Practice Group of the Year for “steering clients through multibillion-dollar energy projects” and securing key wins in construction disputes over the course of the year.

In its profile of the practice, Law360 highlighted the group’s work advising LNG Canada with respect to an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for its $31 billion Kitimat, British Columbia, liquified natural gas (LNG) project; assisting a Cheniere Energy affiliate on another EPC contract for a third liquefaction plant at an LNG terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas; and multiple wins in pipeline defect-related arbitration and lawsuits for Southern Co. Gas (formerly AGL Resources).

Scott A. Greer, leader of the firm's Global Construction Transactions practice, told Law360 the firm is currently handling more than $200 billion in construction deals.

Mike Stenglein, Managing Partner of the firm’s Austin office and leader of the Global Construction Disputes practice, told Law360 the successes the Construction practice has achieved across  both transactions and disputes “show the depth and breadth of the firm’s ability to get tremendous results.”

Law360’s annual Practice Group of the Year honors are given to the law firms behind the “litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry” in the past year. The Practice Groups of the Year were selected from among 759 submissions from 84 law firms.

In addition to being named a Construction Practice Group of the Year, King & Spalding also won Firm of the Year honors for being among the firms with the most Practice Group of the Year recognitions.
