Law360 Names King & Spalding a 2018 “Life Sciences Practice Group of the Year”

NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2019 — Law360 has named King & Spalding’s life sciences practice a Life Sciences “Practice Group of the Year” for the third consecutive year.

In its profile of the practice, Law360 highlighted the firm’s win for client Galderma Laboratories LP in August when a judge ruled Amneal Pharmaceuticals LLC’s proposed generic version of Galderma’s 's flagship rosacea drug Oracea infringes five of Galderma’s patents.  Law360 also cited the firm’s work representing Medtronic Inc. in getting certain restrictions in its consent decree with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration lifted, allowing it to return to normal operations for the sale of its  Synchromed II infusion pump.

“For our life science clients, we’ve worked to make ourselves a one-stop shop law firm to serve all of their critical legal needs, including the FDA and [Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services] regulatory matters, IP and pharmaceutical product liability litigation matters and government investigation matters,” Nikki Reeves, partner and co-chair of the firm’s life sciences and health care industry group, told the publication.

Law360’s annual Practice Group of the Year honors are given to the law firms behind the “litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry” in the past year.  The Practice Groups of the Year were selected from among 759 submissions from 84 law firms.

In addition to being named a Life Sciences Practice Group of the Year, King & Spalding also won “Firm of the Year” honors for being among the firms with the most Practice Group of the Year recognitions.  The firm was also recognized as a Practice Group of the Year for Automotive, Construction, Environmental, Healthcare, International Arbitration, and Product Liability.
