King & Spalding’s Paris Office Adds International Arbitration and Litigation Partner

PARIS, June 5, 2018 — King & Spalding today announced that Marc-Olivier Langlois has joined as a partner in the firm’s Trial and Global Disputes practice group in the Paris office.

Langlois has nearly 20 years of international arbitration experience, primarily representing companies in construction disputes arising out of infrastructure and energy projects.  He also has litigated a number of investor-state arbitrations, as well as commercial arbitrations regarding mergers and acquisitions, pharmaceutical licensing and distribution agreements, defense contracts, and technology disputes.

“International commercial arbitration remains the best and most effective means of resolving complex business disputes between parties based in different countries,” said Andy Bayman, leader of King & Spalding’s Trial & Global Disputes practice group. “Marc is well-known in the Paris arbitration community, which remains one of the world’s leading centers for international arbitration, in part because of its historical link to the International Chamber of Commerce.”

Langlois is a member of the ICC’s Task Force on Maximizing the Probative Value of Witness Evidence and was recently appointed to the executive committee of the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy. He joins the firm from Hughes Hubbard, where he was the managing partner of its Paris office and co-chair of its International Construction Disputes practice.

“Marc’s addition strengthens our arbitration capabilities in Paris, enhances our construction arbitration bench and grows our global commercial arbitration offering,” said Edward Kehoe, co-head of King & Spalding’s International Arbitration and Litigation practice.

“King & Spalding is internationally recognized as having one of the top arbitration teams in the world, with offices in all of the major arbitration centers,” said Langlois. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues to expand the firm’s already strong practice in Paris and globally.”
