King & Spalding Shortlisted for “Most Innovative Law Firm” in North America by the Financial Times

NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2022 — King & Spalding has been shortlisted in the “Most Innovative Law Firm” category for the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers North America 2022 Awards. The firm is also shortlisted in three additional categories:

  • Innovation in Sustainability:The firm’s Energy and Infrastructure Projects team is assisting Hy Stor Energy in establishing a first-of-its-kind business focused on the production of clean hydrogen, a fuel and feedstock critical to decarbonization. The project is the largest hydrogen hub under development in the U.S.

  • Innovation in Using Data: The firm’s Corporate, Finance and Investments practice group developed a bespoke, client-centric resource tracking all capital sources (private equity funds, family offices, sovereigns, etc.) globally where King & Spalding partners have connections. Lawyers help connect clients to sources, giving clients access to potential funding that might not previously have been available to them.

  • Innovative Practitioner:Joseph Akrotirianakis has helped multiple pharmaceutical companies that manufacture FDA-approved drugs fight off unlawful competition from drug compounders. His recent victories on behalf of pharmaceutical clients have been “first-of-their-kind,” creating new precedents in unfair trade practices law as it relates to drug compounders and extinguishing existential threats to companies’ efforts to bring essential treatments to market lawfully.
