Lawyers in King & Spalding’s London office have helped JUSTICE, the law reform and human rights organisation working to strengthen the justice system in the UK, to update its important public guidance, “How to Appeal: A guide to the criminal appeal system”.
The guide covers each stage of the criminal appeal process in detail, from getting organised before a case; to the filing of an application for leave to the appeal; and steps to take after the appeal. The guidance is crucial for individuals who find themselves in the criminal system, particularly in an era of diminishing Legal Aid budgets. London associate Luke Clements helped to manage, redesign and support the updated guide alongside partners Aaron Stephens and Ruth Byrne, on a pro bono basis.
